Chamber Music Albuquerque presents the 09-10 season with eight concerts from these seven wonderful ensembles:

Brazilian Guitar Quartet - Pianist, Grace Fong - Brooklyn Rider - Ying Quartet - Trio Mediaeval - Shanghai Quartet and Parker Quartet.

We at CMA hope these concerts will excite you and that you will chose to attend other series’ concerts that, in their distinctly unique ways, expand upon the concept of chamber music in these transformative times.

Brazilian Guitar Quartet

The Brazilian Guitar Quartet has established itself one of the world's leading guitar ensembles. Their unique combination of regular six-string and extended-range, eight-string guitars, allows the quartet to explore an original and unusual repertoire. In their ten years of playing together, the BGQ has performed more than 300 concerts on 4 continents, including sold-out performances in Albuquerque in 2006. Don’t miss their return engagement with music by Villa-Lobos, Albeniz and J.S. Bach

Trio Mediaeval

Trio mediaeval is an “a cappella” women's vocal ensemble in which ancient and modern meet. These brilliant young Scandinavian sopranos specialize in a diverse repertoire that features polyphonic medieval music from England and France, contemporary works written for the ensemble, and traditional Norwegian ballads and song. They are considered to be the world’s premiere early music vocal ensemble. For their Albuquerque debut they will perform an anonymous Medieval English Worcester Ladymass and three contemporary works by the cutting-edge composer Gavin Bryars, that were composed for trio mediaeval.
